Sioux Falls Convention Center
Come and join us in celebration as we host the 57th Biennial National Convention in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This will be your chance to share in the love and excitement with Catholic Daughters who share in the joy of membership.
South Dakota CDA State officers and entire membership are honored to host each of you for this convention on July 17-22, 2018. Planning and preparing for 1000 (or more) of our CDA sisters has been exciting and we cannot wait for you each to get to Sioux Falls. On Friday night, we are planning to celebrate our 100th CDA State Anniversary, with a true party atmosphere.
Whether you fly into Joe Foss Field, charter a bus or drive, we hope you come early to enjoy all that has been planned for you. Our convention trips are amazing, and we suggest you sign up early. Please review all of trips, as the choices we have arranged, will give you even some night time options early in the week. “The Mystery Room” experience will give you a great team building night, or how about dining with a Chef who took the chance to “Beat Bobby Flay”?
Our State Board; Judy Konechne, 1st vice state regent, Michele Sage, 2nd vice state regent, Deb DeFries, state secretary and Deborah Burdick, state treasurer, have been advising and working alongside our SD CDA sisters who have so many great ideas, energy and enthusiasm. Barb Wiechmann, immediate past state regent has been a fantastic host state co-chairman and works tirelessly. We’ve gathered, reported, called, emailed and texted to get things ready for you.
Be sure to sign up for the Circle of Love Walk to be held at Veterans Park on Friday, July 20th. This is a serene area and we will be honored for you to be a part of this event. We love our Vets.
Sioux Falls offers over 700 different options for your state night dining, so plan on trying something new. Just don’t forget to make your way over to Falls Park to see the sights and sounds of the Sioux River at the Falls. The liturgies, CDA Choir and an opportunity to reflect, pray and worship will all be part of this gathering. St. Joseph’s Cathedral was recently renovated and is remarkably beautiful. You will see the spires of the cathedral in the distance as you arrive. Please consider joining the choir so that you too can raise your voice to the heavens.
Join us, here in South Dakota as we come together in praise and worship, unity and charity so that we all can “Serve the Lord with Gladness!
