It appears that Hydra Brewery is up for sale. A listing on BizBuySell shows a Sioux Falls Brewhouse and Taproom for sale that is in a strip mall with about 80 seats. It also lists the business as having started in 2015.
Hydra emerged as a micro-brew brand in Sioux Falls around May 2015. They opened their taproom in late 2015 at 2425 S. Shirley Ave., near Ruby Tuesday and Century Stadium 14.
Hopefully somebody can step in, buy this place and save it from extinction. It’s my favorite place to sit and chill before crossing the street to catch a movie.

We’ve all heard that Chipotle, the famous Burrito restaurant chain has been scouting locations in Sioux Falls for a while now. But where would it possibly go?
It had been rumored that Chipotle might open inside The Empire Mall. Well, it turns out that they will be building a new location outside the mall near the Autos on the Mall site at 4101 West 41st Street according to Chipotle’s website.
The new restaurant is expected to be open in 2020.
After moving to Sioux Falls from Chicago 12 years ago, I’m still getting used to all of the new laws and ordinances for the city and South Dakota. After browsing through some of the ordinances, I was a little shocked by some of them. I think I might be guilty of violating a few of these. Here are some of the ones that stuck out as local ordinances you may not know about.
