What’s the best way to help a sick child forget about their illness? Give ‘em some toys to rave over! It’s a sad fact that some families are so cash strapped they can’t possibly afford such luxuries. Thankfully, the Child’s Play charity exists for this cause. They help bring toys to sick children everywhere.
I was originally turned on to the Child’s Play charity when I caught wind of a thing called Mario Marathon. It’s an online event where you can watch people play the many different Mario Bros. games non stop. This year will mark the 10th anniversary of Mario Marathon. You can donate toward the cause and watch the Mario Marathon event starting June 23 at 11am CST on TwitchTV.
If you don’t want to wait until the event or would rather donate toys directly to a hospital in your area, you can visit the Amazon Wish List that Child’s Play has provided on Amazon. Sanford Children’s Hospital is on the list. Pick a toy and they’ll ship it right to the hospital you choose. Even a small toy that costs $3 can brighten the entire world of a sick child.
